NARS Arabian Nights Fail?...

NARS has released their 2011 Holiday Makeup collection! I recently picked up the eyeshadow trio in Arabian Nights. The palette comes with three shimmery shades - black with red glitter, black with purple glitter & black with green glitter. The shadows look great in the packaging but fall short when applied. The glitters you see in the shadow do not show up when applied and you end up with dark red, dark purple and a dark green matte shade with a slight sparkle instead. 

I did find that if applied over a cream shadow base or with a eyelid primer the pay off is a bit better, but over all I was disappointed with my purchase.

We all know by now that its important to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells, environmental debris, makeup, and dirt. Exfoliation helps slush away old dirty skin cells to make room for new healthy cells. Our lips are no exception and need the same care, especially in the approaching fall and winter months. All you need is a toothbrush (soft bristle is best) and some Vaseline. First wet your lips with a bit of water, then apply a small amount of Vaseline to your tooth brush. Starting with your top lip and gently brush your lips in circular motion going around from top lip to bottom lip and back again. Continue brushing until you start to feel your lips becoming smooth. If you notice your lips start to peel gently continue brushing. When your done wipe off the excess Vaseline with a soft face cloth. Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette...

On a recent trip to my local Sephora I was introduced to their Moonshadow Baked Palette. These palettes come in two color themes: In The Nude and In The Dark. Both palettes come with 10 baked eye shadows that can be used wet or dry. I love these shadows and believe Sephora did a great job with them and the price point of $28 is well worth it. These shadows are highly pigmented, have minimal fall out, and both palettes come in great color selections for both natural and dramatic makeup looks. This palette is a great alternative to those who don't want to pay $50 dollars for Urban Decays Naked Palette .
