A while back I remember coming across an image of a woman with her face beat (translation: makeup was flawless) In this image the artist used what appeared to be a skin tone shimmer eye shadow, the shadow looked phenomenal. The shadow was ORB by ILLAMASQUA, a London based company that till recently only had international shipping on their website but did not stores overseas. While on vacation in New York I went to sephora and was delighted to see Illamasqua's products in the stores window display. I grabbed their loose pigment in Orb and am happy to report it looked exactly on my skin tone (which was much different then the woman's in the image) as it did in the image I saw. This These cosmetics are great, they come in tons of wonderful colors, highly pigmented and come in sizable containers; a little definitely does go a long way. NARS has released their 2011 Holiday Makeup collection! I recently picked up the eyeshadow trio in Arabian Nights. The palette comes with three shimmery shades - black with red glitter, black with purple glitter & black with green glitter. The shadows look great in the packaging but fall short when applied. The glitters you see in the shadow do not show up when applied and you end up with dark red, dark purple and a dark green matte shade with a slight sparkle instead.  I did find that if applied over a cream shadow base or with a eyelid primer the pay off is a bit better, but over all I was disappointed with my purchase.  ____________________________________________________________

When was the last time you chose a tall glass of H2O over a sweet frizzy drink or a glass of wine? Ummmmmm almost never for me, that is before I did a bit more research on the health benefits of this miracle liquid we call water. We have all heard that we are supposed to drink 8-12 glasses of water a day, but most of us have trouble keeping up with water intake and often fall victim to pops or other sugar drinks which taste better. So what is the 411 with water? Well, water keeps our body hydrated which in turn regulates the bodies temperature, detoxifies, helps with metabolism and also keeps our skin looking youthful and hydrated. Here is a sexy little look that can be achieved with 2 lip sticks. Besides looking super fashion forward, Ombre lips give the appearance of larger lips by countering with a darker shade around the outer area adds definition and a slightly softer tone in the center reflects light and creates the illusion of fuller juicer lips!  The key to achieving this fabulous look is to use to shades in the same color family and have them gradually fade into each other. To achieve the look in the above picture, use a firm bush to precisely apply a deep red hue along the lip line and blend it toward the center. Then apply a paler bubblegum pink to the center of the top and bottom lips.   It's Fall! My favorite time of year, not only because of the fabulous fall fashions, but because of my guilty pleasure- Pumpkin Seeds!  Since I was a child I loved planning a trip to the local pumpkin patch  with my family and friends in search of  that one special big fat orange pumpkin.
